Global lithium export is expected to reach 175 million kilograms by 2026, up from 152 million kilograms in 2021. This is a 2.5% year-on-year increase on average. Since 2016, the global supply has grown by 6.3% year on year. Chile was the biggest exporter in 2021, with 92 million kilograms, followed by Argentina, Belgium and China. India saw a 223% year-on-year increase, while Finland saw an 82.2% decrease over the same period. Global lithium import is projected to reach 186 million kilograms by 2026, up from 158 million kilograms in 2021, a 2.7% year-on-year CAGR. Since 2016, global demand has increased by 8.8% year on year. In 2021, South Korea was the biggest importer, with 39 million kilograms, followed by China, Japan and the United States. Kazakhstan saw a 189.5% year-on-year increase, while Bolivia saw a 65.7% decrease over the same period.
