Since 2019, the global supply of rail length has been increasing at an average rate of 0.6% per year. The United States leads the world in rail length, boasting 148,000 route-kilometers in 2023. China, Russia, and India follow as the second, third, and fourth largest rail networks, respectively. Notably, Turkmenistan has seen a significant increase in its rail length, growing by 4.3% annually. In contrast, Gabon experienced a decline, with its rail length decreasing by 4.4% per year since 2019.
