From 2013 to 2019, there was a consistent upward trend peaking at 7.4705 million in 2019. However, the COVID-19 pandemic caused a dramatic decline in 2020 to 2.2638 million. Although there was a slight recovery in 2021, it wasn't until 2022 that numbers significantly bounced back to 5.8466 million, still below the pre-pandemic peak. In 2023, the number fell again to 4.8138 million.
From 2024 onwards, a steady yet modest growth is forecasted, with the yearly figure expected to rise to 5.0367 million by 2028. This reflects a forecasted 5-year CAGR of 0.72% and an overall growth of 3.65% during this period.
