The consumption of Liquefied Petroleum Gases (LPG) by households in Sweden over the past decade has shown considerable fluctuation. In 2013, the consumption was at 4.58 thousand tonnes of oil equivalent, rising sharply by 45.19% in 2014. However, it dropped significantly by 38.3% in 2015. The subsequent years saw minor fluctuations with a noticeable stabilization from 2018 onwards, maintaining a constant figure of around 4.11 thousand tonnes of oil equivalent from 2019 to 2023. The year-on-year variation also shows that there has been minimal change in recent years, 0.024% between 2022 and 2023. The five-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) for 2023 stands at a modest 0.029%.
The forecasted data for the period 2024 to 2028 indicates a sustained level of LPG consumption at 4.12 thousand tonnes of oil equivalent annually. The forecasted five-year CAGR remains stagnant at 0.01%, reporting a 0.05% growth rate, suggesting a stable but non-growing demand.
Future trends to watch for include potential shifts towards alternative fuels driven by environmental concerns and regulatory changes. Additionally, technological advancements in energy efficiency could further impact LPG consumption patterns in the residential sector.
