In 2024, Germany led European solar energy consumption with 0.61 Exajoules, followed by Spain (0.38 Exajoules) and Italy (0.27 Exajoules). Year-on-year data from 2023 showed a significant increase in solar energy consumption in several countries, most notably Poland (107.36%), Hungary (54.02%), and Sweden (54.31%).
