The annual growth rates fluctuated, revealing periods of both growth and decline. Noteworthy peaks included a 19.13% increase in 2019, followed by downturns in 2020 and 2021. However, the trend rebounded with an 18.5% rise in 2022 and a 4.35% growth in 2023, reaching 123.09 publications in 2023.
Future projections from 2024 onwards anticipate a steadier growth trajectory with a forecasted 5-year CAGR of 2.97%, indicating a more consistent albeit slower growth pace compared to historical patterns. The forecasted growth rate of 15.74% by 2028 suggests a positive outlook for scientific publications in biotechnology. Key trends to watch include the influence of new technological advancements, increased research funding, and collaboration opportunities that could further boost growth in this sector.
