The value rose from €304.6 million in 2013 to €729.8 million in 2023, indicating robust growth. However, fluctuations were observed, notably a decline in 2016, 2020, and a slower growth pace between 2018 and 2019. The largest year-on-year increase occurred in 2015 with a rise of 37.87%. Between 2019 and 2023, the value grew consistently, with the highest five-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.42% from 2022. Looking forward, the forecast suggests continuous growth, reaching €915.8 million by 2028, with an average annual growth rate of 3.59%.
Future trends to watch for include innovations in product formulations catering to dietary preferences, increasing consumer awareness of health and nutrition, and expanding export markets. Monitoring regulatory changes and advancements in production technology will also be essential for maintaining growth momentum.
