India is currently ranked second in the world for goat meat consumption, with China taking the top spot with 685 thousand metric tons in 2021. India, Pakistan and Iran are the next top three countries in terms of goat meat demand. Production of goat meat in India is set to reach 731.97 thousand metric tons by 2026, a slight decrease of 0.1% compared to the 734 thousand metric tons seen in 2021. Since 2017, Indian supply has remained relatively stable. India is currently ranked third in the world for goat meat production, with Australia taking the lead at 734 thousand metric tons in 2021. Australia, India and Pakistan are the next top three countries for goat meat production.
