Global plastic import is forecast to reach $661 billion by 2026, up from $624 billion in 2021. That's a 0.9% year-on-year growth rate. Since 2017, global demand has increased 3.9% annually. China was the leading importer in 2021, bringing in $75 billion. The United States, Germany and France followed in second, third and fourth place. Armenia rose 10.4% year-on-year, while Seychelles fell 17.9% since 2017. Global plastic export is expected to reach $642 billion by 2026, up from $607 billion in 2021. That's an average 0.9% year-on-year growth rate. Since 2017, global supply has grown 3.9% year-on-year. China was the top exporter in 2021, with $84 billion. The United States, Germany and South Korea placed second, third and fourth. Samoa increased 66.5% year-on-year, while Mongolia dropped 30.7% since 2017. European plastic product sales are projected to reach €279.8 billion by 2026, from €264.8 billion in 2021. That's an average 0.6% year-on-year growth rate. Since 2016, the European market has risen 1.4% annually. In 2021, Germany was number one with €70.4 billion in sales. Italy, France and the United Kingdom followed in second, third and fourth positions. Bosnia and Herzegovina was up 8.1% year-on-year, while Belgium dropped 2.9% since 2016.
