Electric vehicle registrations in Europe are expected to grow by almost 5% annually, reaching nearly 1.65 million units by 2026. Since 2017, the market has grown at a rate of 47.3% per year. Germany led the way in 2021 with 369,540 electric vehicles registered, followed by France, Norway and Sweden in the number two, three and four spots respectively. Greece registered the largest year-on-year growth of 87.3%, while Bulgaria saw an increase of 9.7% since 2017.
