Germany is set to see a 1% rise in smart card exports by 2026, according to new figures. The country was second in the world for exports at 565 million items in 2021, just behind France. Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands were the second, third, and fourth largest exporters respectively. Meanwhile, imports are forecast to grow by 3% year-on-year by 2026. The Netherlands, Spain and France were the second, third and fourth largest importers in 2021, with Germany importing 957 million items. Since 2012, German demand has risen by 6.6% year-on-year.
