Hungary is expected to witness significant growth in the export and import of smart cards in the upcoming years. According to estimates, export of smart cards is poised to reach nearly 7.4 million items by 2026, registering a CAGR of 1.7% from 2021. The country's export of smart cards increased by 13.7% since 2012. Hungary ranked 16th in 2021 with 6.7 million items, while Ireland held the top spot in the rankings. Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands followed in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place respectively. Import of smart cards in Hungary is projected to reach 42.1 million items by 2026, exhibiting an average yearly growth of 2.6% from 2021. Demand for smart cards rose by 4.5% in the country since 2012. Hungary was ranked 17th in 2021 with 36 million items, just behind Slovakia. The Netherlands, Spain, and France occupied the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th positions respectively.
