China is set to increase their milk production over the next five years. In 2021, China produced 36.8 million metric tons of milk, which was good enough to earn it the fourth-highest spot in the global rankings. That same year, Brazil overtook China to become the largest producer of milk, with 37 million metric tons. The United States Virgin Islands, Pakistan and Brazil respectively came in second, third and fourth in the rankings. Since 1966, Chinese milk production has grown at an average rate of 0.8% year-on-year. By 2026, it is expected to reach 37.8 million metric tons, a 0.4% increase from 2021.
