Egypt's consumption of pesticides is expected to rise to around 14,000 metric tons by 2026, up 1.6% per year on average since 1995. In 2021, Egypt was the 33rd largest consumer of pesticides, with 13,000 metric tons. Greece topped the ranking with 13,050 metric tons, followed by the United States, Brazil, and Argentina. Egyptian imports of pesticides are also set to increase, reaching 168,000 metric tons by 2026, up 3.7% per year on average since 1999. In 2021, Egypt was the 7th largest importer, at 135,000 metric tons. Japan was the largest importer, followed by Thailand, Germany, and Taiwan.
