In 2018, the import of pesticide into the United Arab Emirates soared by 39,100%, growing from zero metric tons in 2017 to 39 metric tons. Since 2012, the consumption of pesticide in the country had dropped by two thirds. Mongolia was the top importer of pesticide in 2018, with 39 metric tons. Thailand, Germany, and Taiwan followed, ranked second, third, and fourth respectively.
