Ecuador's pesticide consumption is on the rise. The country is projected to consume 42,480 metric tons of pesticides by 2026 – a 1.9% yearly increase on average. Since 1995, Ecuador's pesticide consumption has decreased by an average of 0.6% each year. In 2021, it ranked 16th in the world for pesticide consumption with 38,020 metric tons. Germany topped the list at 38,020 metric tons, followed by the United States, Brazil, and Argentina.
