Consumption of pesticides in Australia is forecast to reach 75,170 metric tons by 2026, a 1.7% year-on-year rise. This is in contrast to 1995, when the market had decreased by 46% year-on-year. In 2021, Australia was ranked 8th, with Russia taking the lead with 67,440 metric tons. The United States, Brazil and Argentina placed second, third and fourth, respectively. Australian exports of pesticides dropped 18.8% in 2018, down to 0.04 metric tons from 0.05 metric tons in 2017. Since 1995, exports had decreased by 15.8%. In 2018, Poland was the leader with 0.04 metric tons, followed by Germany, Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom.
