Armenia's pesticide consumption is expected to reach almost 690 metric tons by 2026, according to a recent study. This represents an average growth rate of 2.2 percent year-on-year, since 1997. In 2021, Armenia was ranked 100th in the world, with Suriname just ahead at 598 metric tons. The United States, Brazil and Argentina took the top three spots, respectively. Imports of pesticides into Armenia are also set to increase, reaching 11.2 metric tons by 2026. This is a growth rate of 4.2 percent year-on-year since 2006. In 2021, Armenia held the 31st spot, with Canada leading the way with 8.72 metric tons. Thailand, Germany and Taiwan were the second, third and fourth-ranked countries, respectively.
