Israel is set to see an increase in hospital beds and hospital discharges over the next five years. According to the latest figures, the number of hospital beds in the country is expected to reach 28,040 by 2026, a growth of 0.6% year on year on average since 1993. This puts the country at number 28 in the world rankings, with Slovakian overtaking it with 27,050 beds. Japan, Russia and the United States rank numbers 2, 3 and 4 respectively. The number of hospital discharges is also expected to grow, reaching 1,427,500 by 2026, an average increase of 0.5% year on year since 2005. This indicates that Israel is likely to see an increase in hospital beds and discharges over the next five years.
