Since 2007, Tobagonian demand for fertilizer has decreased by 3.3% annually. In 2021, Tobago ranked 126th in the world, with Gambia ahead at 3,200 metric tons. Brazil, Spain, and Thailand came in second, third, and fourth, respectively. Tobagonian fertilizer exports fell by 39.4% to 1.29 metric tons in 2019, compared to 2.13 metric tons in 2018. Since 2007, Tobago's fertilizer supply has decreased by nearly 50% year-over-year. In 2019, Tobago was 96th in the world, with Cyprus ahead at 1.29 metric tons. Norway, Belgium and Finland were ranked second, third, and fourth, respectively.
