Goat meat consumption in Italy is predicted to drop by 800 metric tons over the next five years, according to a new report. This decrease follows a 0.6% year-on-year drop since 2017. In 2021, Italy was ranked 47th in the world, behind Kuwait which consumed 52 thousand metric tons. India, Pakistan and Iran placed second, third and fourth respectively. Italian goat meat production is expected to rise slightly over the next five years, growing 1.4% year-on-year on average. The country has seen a 1.8% increase since 2017. In 2021, Italy was placed 55th in the world, behind Peru which produced 38 thousand metric tons. Australia, India and Pakistan took the second, third and fourth spots respectively.
