By 2026, Chinese goat meat consumption is projected to reach 5.3 million metric tons. This is a 0.5% year-on-year average rate of growth since 2021, when Chinese demand was 5.2 million metric tons. India, Pakistan and Iran ranked second, third and fourth respectively. Chinese goat meat production is also set to increase, reaching 5 million metric tons by 2026 from 4.9 million metric tons in 2021. The annual growth rate is 0.6% year-on-year since 2017. Australia, India and Pakistan took the second, third and fourth spots respectively.
