Sri Lankan goat meat consumption is predicted to drop 8.3% to just over half a million tonnes by 2026, according to a recent report. This follows a period of stagnation since 2017, when Sri Lanka was ranked 126th in the world, behind Poland in 125th place. India, Pakistan and Iran followed in second, third and fourth place respectively. Meanwhile, Sri Lankan goat meat production remained at one million tonnes in 2018, compared to the year before, with Poland again placing first. Australia, India and Pakistan came in second, third and fourth place respectively.
