Dutch platinum imports are set to rise to $58 million by 2026. This is an increase of 0.8% year-on-year from 2021, when imports totalled $56 million. Since 1997, imports have jumped by 25% annually. The Netherlands was the 25th largest importer in 2021, Thailand coming first at $55.9 million. Germany, Japan and the UK were second, third and fourth in the ranking respectively. Exports of platinum from the Netherlands dropped to $5.9 million in 2021, from $6.2 million in 2020 – a decrease of 3.9%. Since 1997, exports have decreased 19.2% year-on-year. In 2021, the country was 28th in the ranking, Colombia overtaking at $5.9 million. The UK, Russia and the US followed in the rankings.
