In 2021, Mexico ranked 33rd in the world for cobalt export, while Indonesia was ahead at 7,520 kilograms. The United States, Russia and China followed in second, third and fourth place respectively. Meanwhile, Mexican demand for cobalt has decreased by 10.3% year on year since 1995. In 2017, the country was 48th in the world, while Bulgaria overtook at 6,580 kilograms. Belgium, the United States and Japan took the second, third and fourth spots in this ranking.
