In 2021, Morocco was the 11th biggest exporter of cobalt, while Belgium was the top exporter at 1.9 million kilograms. The United States, Russia and China came in at 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively. Imports of cobalt into Morocco are forecast to reach around 194 thousand kilograms by 2026, with an average annual growth rate of 3.1% since 2021. This is despite demand having decreased by 9.8% since 1999. In 2021, Tunisia was the biggest importer of cobalt, followed by Belgium, the United States and Japan in that order. Morocco came in at 26th place.
