Sweden's exports of cobalt are predicted to plummet 27.2% to almost 10,000 kg by 2026. This follows a 1% year-on-year decline since 1997. Switzerland topped the 2021 ranking of exporting countries with 56,000 kg, while Sweden ranked 25th. The US, Russia and China took the next three spots in the ranking. Import of cobalt into Sweden is set to decrease 4% annually, from 255,000 kg in 2021 to 201,000 kg by 2026. Since 2001, the country's demand has grown by 3.9% each year. In 2021, Thailand led the ranking of importing countries with 255,000 kg, with Sweden coming in 21st. Belgium, the US and Japan were the next three countries in the ranking.
