Luxembourg's demand for cobalt dropped 6% in 2021, to 35,220 kilograms, from 37,470 kilograms in 2020. Since 2004, the country's demand had decreased by 14.3% year-on-year. Luxembourg came in at number 35 in 2021, with the Czech Republic ahead in first place, at 35,220 kilograms. Belgium, the United States and Japan respectively ranked second, third and fourth. Luxembourg's supply of cobalt saw an even sharper decline in 2018, dropping 73% from 444 kilograms in 2017, to just 120 kilograms. Since 2004, the country's supply had decreased by 26.9% year-on-year. Luxembourg was number 48 in 2018, with Colombia coming in first, at 120 kilograms. The United States, Russia and China respectively ranked second, third and fourth.
