Albania is on track to become one of the top garlic producers in the world. Over the last five years, the country's garlic production has grown by 2.3% year on year on average. In 2021, Albanian garlic output reached nearly 19,000 metric tons - placing it 39th worldwide. Cuba was the top garlic producer in 2021, with 15,900 metric tons. India, Bangladesh and South Korea followed suit, taking the second, third and fourth spots in the ranking, respectively. Since 1995, Albanian garlic production has increased at an average rate of 5.1% year on year. By 2026, the country is projected to hit 18,000 metric tons - cementing its place as one of the top garlic producers in the world.
