Bhutan's pear production is on the rise. In 2021, it reached 1,800 metric tons, up 11% from 2009. It was ranked 68th in the world for production that year, behind Sweden's 1,620 metric tons. The United States, Argentina and Italy came in second, third and fourth, respectively. Looking ahead, Bhutan's pear production is estimated to hit 1,840 metric tons in 2026, representing a 2.1% growth rate annually.
