This is a decrease of 3.2% year-on-year on average – a trend that has been in place since 1966, when production was 5.2% lower than the year prior. In 2021, Australia ranked 21st in global pear production, with Taiwan edging them out at 80,340 metric tons. The United States, Argentina, and Italy followed in second, third, and fourth place, respectively.
