Saudi Arabia is set to be the 34th biggest apple consumer in the world by 2026, according to new figures. In 2021, Saudi consumption of the fruit stands at 177,000 metric tons, down by 0.6% year-on-year since 2017. That's compared to Bangladesh, which overtook Saudi Arabia with consumption of 177,000 metric tons. The United States, India and Russia are the top three apple consumers in the world, respectively. Overall, Saudi Arabia's apple consumption is projected to grow 3% year-on-year on average up to 2026, when it is expected to reach 212,000 metric tons.
