The country has seen its demand grow by 7% each year on average since 2001. In 2021, Bulgaria was ranked 58th globally, behind Belarus which imported $4.5 million in sparkling wine. The United Kingdom, Japan and Germany came in second, third and fourth place, respectively. Bulgaria's exports of sparkling wine totalled $433,420 in 2018, down 1.9% from the previous year's $441,990. Since 2001, the country's supply has decreased by 1.4% each year on average.
