Paraguayan avocado production is forecast to drop by 2.9% annually over the next five years. Currently, the country is ranked 35th in the world with 9,920 metric tons of production in 2021. That number is expected to fall to 8,370 metric tons by 2026. Since 1966, the Democratic Republic of the Congo has been the top producer, followed by the Dominican Republic, Peru and Colombia. Paraguay's avocado production has decreased by 5% each year since then.
