Salvadoran avocado production is set to reach 43,000 metric tons by 2026, according to a report by the International Trade Center. This is a 3.2% growth from 2021 when the country produced 35,300 metric tons. Since 1966, Salvadoran production has grown by 27.3% year-on-year, making it the 26th largest producer of the fruit in 2021. New Zealand overtook it with 35,280 metric tons. The Dominican Republic, Peru and Colombia ranked second, third and fourth respectively.
