Australian avocado production is forecast to increase by 17,920 metric tons over the next five years. Last year, the country ranked 19th in the world, with a total production of 80,830 metric tons. Malawi was the top producer with the same amount. The Dominican Republic, Peru and Colombia were ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th with respectively higher production volumes. Since 1966, the year on year growth of Australian avocado production has been an average of 3.6%. This is expected to increase to 2.7% in the next five years, resulting in a total of 94,750 metric tons by 2026.
