In 2021, Puerto Rican avocado production dropped 19.3% compared to 2020. This marks a decrease of 12.5% since 1966. Puerto Rico now ranks 60th in the world, just behind Tunisia, which produced 276 metric tons of avocados. The Dominican Republic, Peru, and Colombia follow in the rankings at second, third and fourth place, respectively.
