Bolivia's pea consumption is expected to decline slightly over the next five years, from 4,000 metric tons in 2021 to 3,700 metric tons by 2026. Since 2017, the country's demand for peas has remained relatively stable, though Mauritius recently overtook Bolivia in 2021 with a total of 4,000 metric tons. China, Ethiopia, and Bangladesh ranked 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, respectively, in this ranking. Meanwhile, Bolivian pea production is projected to decrease by 0.7% annually, falling from 4,610 metric tons in 2021 to 4,430 metric tons by 2026. This follows a downward trend that has been in place since 1966, when the country registered a 1.1% year-on-year decrease in production.
