Last year, Suriname's pea consumption surpassed 1,000 metric tons - up from 1,000 metric tons in 2017. The country ranked 90th in the world for pea consumption in 2018, with the Dominican Republic coming in ahead at 1,000 metric tons. China, Ethiopia and Bangladesh came in second, third and fourth in the ranking respectively.
