Norwegian pea production is set to reach almost 4,000 metric tons by 2026. In 2021, production is estimated to be 3,840 metric tons, an increase of 0.5% year-on-year. However, since 2008, production has decreased by almost 6%. Norwegian pea consumption totalled 15,000 metric tons in 2018, the same as in 2017. Norway ranked 33rd in the world for pea consumption in 2018, with The Netherlands coming first at 15,000 metric tons. China, Ethiopia and Bangladesh came in second, third and fourth place respectively.
