Macedonia's pea production is set to slump over the next five years. The country's production is expected to reach 2,030 metric tons by 2026, a decrease of 0.4% year on year. This figure has been on a downward trajectory since 1997, when production fell by 0.7% year on year. In 2018, Macedonian pea consumption stood at 2 thousand metric tons, the same as the previous year. It ranked 80th in the world, lagging behind New Zealand, which produced 2 thousand metric tons. China, Ethiopia and Bangladesh were the next three largest producers.
