Burmese consumption of peas is forecast to reach 74,000 metric tons by 2026. This is up from 70,000 metric tons in 2021, with an average annual increase of 0.8%. Since 2017, Burmese demand has grown by 1% each year. In 2021, Burmese demand placed it 10th in the global rankings, with Peru ahead at 70,000 metric tons. China, Ethiopia and Bangladesh were the second, third and fourth biggest consumers respectively. Meanwhile, Burmese production of peas is expected to reach 103,560 metric tons by 2026, up from 92,430 metric tons in 2021, with an average annual growth rate of 1.9%. Since 1966, Burmese supply has increased by 3% each year.
