Iraqi pea consumption is on the rise. In 2021, it reached 23 thousand metric tons, up 4.8% year-on-year since 2017. This puts the country at 24th place in the global ranking, just behind Poland at 23 thousand metric tons. China, Ethiopia and Bangladesh are the top three countries in this ranking. Experts predict that Iraqi pea consumption will continue to grow in the coming years, reaching 27.1 thousand metric tons by 2026, a 2.8% yearly growth on average.
