In 2021, the country ranked 64th worldwide, overtaken by Bulgaria with 6,060 metric tons. The United States, Argentina and China ranked second, third and fourth respectively. In 2018, Salvadoran soybean consumption reached 5,000 metric tons, a slight increase from 2017.
