China was the largest consumer in 2021 with 5.3 million metric tons followed by Vietnam, Japan and Pakistan. Ethiopia saw an 8.7% year-on-year growth while Cuba saw a 10.6% decrease. Global soybean production is forecast to reach 389 million metric tons in 2026, a 1.5% year-on-year increase based on data from 1966 to 2021. Brazil dominated production in 2021 with 124 million metric tons, followed by the United States, Argentina and China. Macedonia saw a 184.4% year-on-year increase while Pakistan saw a 25% decrease.
