Consumption of soybean in Pakistan is expected to reach 820,000 metric tons by 2026, growing at an average rate of 4.5% annually. In 2021, demand for soybean rose 5.6% from the previous year, putting the country in fourth place in the global rankings, just behind Japan which had 613,000 metric tons. Vietnam, Japan and Pakistan held the second, third, and fourth positions respectively. In 2019, Pakistani production of soybean fell dramatically to 15,000 metric tons, a 46.4% reduction on the previous year. Since 1966, the annual output has decreased by 25%. Pakistan was in 92nd position in 2019, with Azerbaijan just ahead at 15,000 metric tons. The US, Argentina and China were in second, third and fourth places respectively.
