Thai soybean consumption is expected to reach around 155,000 metric tons by 2026. This is an average growth rate of 0.7% year-on-year since 2017. In 2021, Thailand was ranked 10th globally, with South Africa in the lead at 148,000 metric tons. Vietnam, Japan and Pakistan were ranked second, third and fourth, respectively. Thai soybean production saw a dramatic decline in 2021, with 18,190 metric tons, compared to 25,420 metric tons in 2020. This equates to a 28.4% drop compared to the previous year. Since 1966, there has been a 13.6% year-on-year decline. In 2021, the Czech Republic was ranked number one at 18,190 metric tons, with the United States, Argentina and China following behind in second, third and fourth place.
