India, the United States and Egypt came in at number 2, 3 and 4 respectively. Tanzanian onion production is also projected to decrease to 88 thousand metric tons by 2026. This is a 3.1% dip compared to the current level of 106 thousand metric tons in 2021. Since 2017, Tanzanian supply has been decreasing annually by an average of 2.7%. In 2021, Tanzania was number 58 in the global ranking, behind Greece’s 106 thousand metric tons. India, the United States and Egypt came in at number 2, 3 and 4 respectively.
