German onion production is expected to drop by 1.1% year on year to around 405,000 metric tons by 2026. This follows an increase of 1.7% since 2017. Germany was ranked 31st in 2021, with France overtaking it with 431,000 metric tons. India, the United States, and Egypt came in at 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, respectively. German onion consumption is forecast to decrease by 0.8% year on year to around 501,000 metric tons by 2026. This follows a rise of 0.8% since 2017. Germany was ranked 29th in 2021, with Senegal overtaking it with 526,000 metric tons. India, the United States, and Egypt came in at 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, respectively.
