Kyrgyz onion production is on the rise. It is expected to reach roughly 240,000 metric tons by 2026, up from 220,000 metric tons in 2021. This represents an average increase of 1.5% year-on-year since 2017. Kyrgyzstan ranked 44th in 2021, with Belarus overtaking it at 220,000 metric tons. India, the US and Egypt ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively. Kyrgyz onion consumption is also increasing. It is expected to reach 243,000 metric tons by 2026, from 217,000 metric tons in 2021. This is an average increase of 1.8% year-on-year since 2017. Kyrgyzstan ranked 49th in 2021, with Ghana overtaking it at 217,000 metric tons. India, the US and Egypt ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.
